goals and resolutions: 2005

  1. successfully knit something that is not a simple rectangle or square
    --> I knit a double Mobius strip on accident! Yay! +1

  2. become a permanent resident in Canada
    --> sent in application, end of July '05 +.5

  3. get a steady job that pays decently well where I can rack up enough hours to get paid maternity leave
    --> can't work yet :( +0

  4. exercise more: yoga, walking, sex, dancing
    --> less yoga, more walking, more sex, less dancing +.5

  5. get started on my tattoos
    --> Done! +1

  6. begin healing old wounds
    --> slowly but surely making progress; this is happymaking :) +1

  7. write more letters
    --> nope. I sent a card... wow, that really sucks. +0

  8. keep in better contact with friends, both local and not
    --> ehn, not really. +0

  9. make a mask
    --> half-credit on this one: I made a mask, but a) I don't like it and b) it's not even painted yet +.5

  10. read LOTS of books I've never read before and revisit a couple of favourites
    --> I read 24 books, some of which I'd already read +1

  11. have more adventure
    --> I did, but not of the physical sort +1

  12. live a more active life: be in the moment and realise the potential in everything around me
    --> I made progress towards this, but the non-specificity of this goal makes it difficult to fully achieve +.5

  13. travel some place new
    --> My wife and I went to our partner's parents' home in May and for Christmas Eve; I went to their retirement property for Labour Day and was accompanied by my wife there for Thanksgiving +1

  14. continue my journey of self-discovery
    --> most DEFINITELY! +1

  15. spend more time with Kiska
    --> We discovered about 6 months ago that she was rather overweight, so we started taking her on longer walks; so I did get to spend more time with Kiska +1

  16. write in my journal more often, draw, paint and create
    --> I've been writing in my paper journal fairly consistently throughout the year, but as I wrote, it was mostly writing and not much drawing and painting; however, I did begin using marvelously coloured fine-tipped markers for my entries, and my main purpose for wanting to draw and create more within my journal was so that it'd not be black ink on white paper for pages and pages and pages and pages. +.75

  17. dye my hair a crazy colour, just because I've never done it before
    --> Done! +1

  18. make colourful, wearable clothing of happiness
    --> nope. but I got crazy tangerine knee-high socks from Sock Dreams! +.5

  19. do more Otherworld journeying
    --> Nope. I did the same number of Otherworld Journeys as the year before +0

  20. commune with Spirit and Nature
    --> I'd say yes on this one. I had a great meditative experience in a cavelet last summer, which was something I'd never done before. +1

Total for 2005: 13.25/20
